An event to honour the couples who have been married for over 50 years was organised in Perm

17 Perm families were awarded  a special memorial medal  «For preservation of family values»  introduced by the Decree of the Perm Region Governor Dmitry Makhonin.

Elena Yerokhina, the Perm Region Registry Office Committee Chair and Alexander Molokovskikh, Deputy Head of the Perm City Administration, took part in a celebration event in honour of married couples, who have been married for over 50 years and celebrating this anniversary together. The event was timed to the July 8^th, the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty. 17 Perm families were awarded with a memorable medal «For the preservation of family values». In addition, commemorative addresses and memorable souvenir banknotes made for the 300th anniversary of Perm were handed over to the celebrants.

To note, the award confirming public recognition was established in 2021 by a decree of the Perm Region Governor Dmitry Makhonin in order to encourage spouses for the development and preservation of traditional family values.

 – At all times, the family has been and still remains the foundation of a strong state, the custodian of folk traditions and the link between generations. Celebrating this holiday, you are reviving age-old traditions of attentive and careful attitude to your beloved ones. The city of Perm is proud of its heroes of the day, as they are an example of true love and loyalty. So let your example encourage everyone to pay attention to their families and friends. I wish you health, peace and prosperity, said Alexander Molokovskikh in his address.

To add, this year the City Registry Office launched a new project to register marriages “in the field”. Registrations of marriages take place on the embankment of the Kama in a festively decorated pavilion with panoramic glass. The pavilion will be used for marriage registration until the end of September.
